[Oricon Monthly] Idolmaster SideM, Mezzo, Feromen and more shine in November

Oricon Monthly November’s final rankings are out.

November was an interesting month. The IDOLM@STER SideM‘s “Reason!!” sold faster in an more quantities than hot cakes, Feromen marked their return with a strong first week of sales, Utapri‘s new single showed that the franchise is still alive and kickin’, Ensemble Stars!‘s units showed once again the franchise’s popularity, between many other things. This month doesn’t feature any seiyuu/2.5D male idol release in the “album” category.

Among all those releases there were several that made the cut and impress on Oricon’s monthly ranking – that relies solely on final sales figures on a specific month. We take a look at those below in a summarized version of the chart.

THE IDOLM@STER SideM “Reason!!” sells over 90.000 copies in 2 weeks

Idolmaster SideM‘s “Reason!!” never left top 10 in November, showcasing the franchise’s selling power and popularity. With over 90.000 copies sold within two weeks in the past month, this is the highest ranking 2.5D male idol release of the month. The single recently received an accolade after breaking the wall and selling over 100.000 copies which led to “Reason!!” being certified gold by RIAJ during this past week.

Utapri “Shining Romance / FORCE LIVE” shows impressive sales numbers

Utapri‘s “Shining Romance / FORCE LIVE” was a force to reckon with during its first week of sales – clinging hard to the top 10 spots. The single quickly grabbed a #3 on Oricon Weekly and kept some consistency in the following weeks. Two weeks of sales and over 52.000 units sold proved that Utapri‘s franchise is still alive and kickin’. The release occupies #8 on Oricon Monthly.

AKATSUKI enter the chart with an unusual release

Akatsuki

AKATSUKI brought to the table a distinct and peculiar release. Mixing eastern and western influences on it, the trio showcased their versatility as well as proved to everyone that a contrabass and a shamisen on the same release work well. “Ensemble Stars! Unit Song CD 3rd Series vol.8 AKATSUKI” sold over 15.000 copies, earning them a solid #29 on November’s chart.

Ra*bits comfortably rank within top 40

Ra*bits‘ release was filled with entertaining and well crafted tunes, adding yet another interesting piece to this 3rd unit song series. “Ensemble Stars! Unit Song CD 3rd Series vol.7 Ra*bits” sold over 13.000 copies in November, earning this unit a comfortable #34.

Mezzo charm their way into Oricon Monthly’s chart with “Dear Butterfly”

IDOLiSH7‘s Mezzo returned with a new single after a period without releases. The ballad duo released “Dear Butterfly“, single that quickly rose on the charts, selling over 10.000 copies in just one week of sales. “Dear Butterfly” sits comfortably on #40.

Feromen’s “OPERA” marks the talented duo’s return in good fashion

Feromen‘s “OPERA” was released in late November but its impressive first week run on both Oricon Daily and Weekly was more than enough to earn them a spot on November’s chart. The duo sold over 10.000 copies in November.
