Nobuhiko Okamoto “Happiece” – Album is withdrawn from stores due to copyright infringement

Unfortunate news for Nobuhiko Okamoto‘s fans. Official sources have announced that “Happiece”, Okamoto‘s first full length album released this past week – 26/10 – has been officially withdrawn from stores.

Kiramune and Lantis have announced that Okamoto‘s first full album “Happiece” is officially delayed to 2017. According to Lantis, the album, released this past week, had several content deficiencies in both editions. Turns out that the issue goes deeper than mere abstract deficiencies. According to Lantis, there’s one song featured on this album that can be easily found in another release within the company.

僕らのカタストロフィ, one of the songs on Okamoto‘s album, is the exact same song as Kenichi Suzumura‘s “ひとつ“.  The original song is the following:

It’s unknown if the composer submited the song once again to Lantis in hopes of selling it twice (something that according to copyright law isn’t allowed) or that it was a simple error and no one in post-production detected that the song had already been released. Lantis claims that this issue has been brought to light due to their poor management and flaws – especially when it comes to check if there’s registry issues of any kind before the album release.

With that being said, Lantis has issued a formal apology to all the fans that had already bought the album or were thinking about doing it. Lantis also added that to everyone that has bought the album, those versions will be replaced with ones that aren’t faulty. In the meanwhile, the album has been withdrawn from the stores and has a new release date already set.

All information regarding the album has been wiped out from Okamoto‘s artist page on Kiramune‘s official website. More details regarding the new reissued version will be updated as soon as more information is available.

The reissued album will only be released in January. For more details about this issue, including Lantis‘ formal apology please check HERE.

The new release date for “Happiece” is 21/01/2017. The album will be available in two different editions: regular and limited.

The cover art is the following for each edition:

Limited edition

The tracklist featured the previous single “Kimi no egao, boku no egao“. It’s not certain whether the previous tracklist will carry over to the reissue but one thing is for certain, 僕らのカタストロフィ is going to be replaced. It’s unknown if the replacement will cover only the instrumental piece or the whole song.

The mv preview is up on Kiramune‘s official youtube channel:

Regarding the contents for each editions:
