NEBULAS bring us a new single. “Canaria” is yet another step towards a perfect release in which we can’t choose between stunning vocal performances and exciting, well thought instrumental pieces. A robust, complete release that solidifies their stance as the best cross unit within Rejet by far.

Track by track analysis:
“Canaria” is a slow tempo pop-rock tune that relies on simple synths and a tender piano melody as its core instrumental elements. Carefully, Sawashiro, Naozumi and Toyonaga take turns to tackle this emotional track. With a heartbreaking chorus that follows the same tempo as the part A of the track, we’re presented with a slow, tension building song where the vocal performance is certainly the main dish. It’s a beautiful, sweet track that really enhanced these three stellar vocals by more than an inch. Nebulas is by far the only Rejet unit to have title tracks that aren’t rocking or dancing tune. Instead they opted once again for a slow tempo pop ballad that really made every single one of the voices stand out stunningly. And the result was this flawless track. 5/5
After a quiet track we’re presented with “Ing…“, a track that brings back the rock sound that lacked a bit on their first release. This track has a faster tempo, the instrumental is mid-tempo while the vocal performance requires several shifts in tempo, ranging from mid to high tempo. The addictive guitar riffs will grab your attention right from the bat in this rocking tune. Looking at this track we notice that this is a nice shift from “Canaria” as it lets go of all those emotions and embraces a more explosive demeanor to deliver an exciting song. Still it’s not enough to top the title track in terms of vocal execution. 4.5/5
If there’s something Nebulas must be proud of is their constant improvements. Not only they are extremely technical singers with incredible belts – especially Toyonaga – but they also managed to up the ante by a lot in comparison with their last release. “Canaria” follows almost then same formula as their debut release back in May but adds a lot more to the table when they put the dance track aside for this one. With a stunning low tempo ballad as the opening for this single, we got to listen to these three fantastic voice tones on top of their game. High notes, low notes, falsetto, this was a song that had it all, and all was executed perfectly. “Ing…” brought back the rock elements missing on the first one and once again MIKOTO provided impressive guitar work for this one. The only thing missing on this track is a little bit of consistency in the instrumental as a whole, the vocal performance as well didn’t come close to the perfection of the title track but it was still a stellar performance. As a whole “Canaria” is yet another fabulous release by the most consistent cross unit within Rejet.
